About this event
October's topic will be conducted by Bro. Lin Gold as she presents the question: " Why Must We Tell Stories? "
Synopsis: Erin Morgenstern’s The Starless Sea draws us into a world of stories within stories, where timeless lovers, shifting realities, and layered symbols explore fate and free will, love and sacrifice, endings and beginnings. Beneath its fantastical narrative lies a deeper question: Are we shaped by the stories we inherit, or can we reshape reality by creating new ones?
For millennia, myths, legends, and stories have helped humanity make sense of existence. But are inherited stories enough? Must we continually create new ones to challenge our perceptions, expand consciousness, and transform ourselves and our world? Is creating new stories not merely a human impulse, but an evolutionary imperative?
Mission Statement: The Masonic Philosophical Society embraces the concept of learning, not for school, but for life, and believes that all men, who seek it, deserve access to continued education. We further embrace the concept of a community environment where ideas can be shared and debated in an open forum. From the seven liberal arts to the arcane, we seek to gain and share the knowledge that is the legacy of mankind.
