About this event

Step into the past—glass in hand. History on the Rocks is a lively evening series that pairs fascinating Jewish history with themed craft cocktails. In this installment, DJHS Executive Director Beri Kaplan Schwitzer explores the daring world of Jewish pirates—Sephardic seafarers who challenged empires, reclaimed fortunes, and carved out their place on the high seas. Sip a cocktail inspired by their journeys as you uncover stories of resilience, rebellion, and identity stretching from hidden Caribbean ports to legend and lore. Whether you’re a history buff or simply looking for a unique night out, this immersive experience blends learning, storytelling, and libations into one unforgettable evening. Come for the history. Stay for the drinks. Leave with a story.
