Dr. Aaron BenComo, M.D. Bio: Dr. Aaron BenComo is a multilingual physician, healthcare executive, and AI product leader with more than 15 years of experience across medicine, life sciences, clinical research, and healthcare innovation. As Product Owner on Biorce’s Sigma team, he leads development of an end-to-end AI clinical trials platform. His previous leadership roles include Senior Vice President of Oncology at Sensiva Health, Chief Medical Officer of Phronetik, and Director of Business Development at BioNTX, where he contributed to strengthening the North Texas life sciences ecosystem.
A physician-scientist, Dr. BenComo has led research involving more than 32,000 COVID-19 patients, developed AI-powered health applications, and advised biotechnology and life sciences organizations. He earned his M.D. from the Universidad de Monterrey and B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Brownsville.
His talk, “Whatever the Question, You Are the Solution,” explores how curiosity, interdisciplinary thinking, and AI can transform consequential questions into meaningful health innovation.
Presentation Summary: AI does not replace the curiosity, expertise, and perspective of those closest to a problem; it amplifies them. As AI becomes increasingly integrated across health and biomedical sciences, the greater constraint on innovation may be our ability to identify consequential problems and recognize the value of our unique perspectives. This presentation explores how curiosity, interdisciplinary thinking, and human-centered approaches can transform AI-enabled ideas into meaningful innovation. Drawing on experiences across clinical practice, research, community health, higher education, quality improvement, and AI development, it offers practical strategies for identifying high-value problems, engaging emerging technologies across disciplinary boundaries, and translating curiosity into real-world impact.
