About this event
Frank Martin's luminous chamber opera Le Vin herbé tells one of the oldest stories in the book — love that cannot be and cannot be stopped. Bound for an arranged royal marriage, Isolde and Tristan share a fateful elixir and are swept into a devotion neither chose and neither can escape. What follows is betrayal, heartbreak, and a love so absolute it consumes everything in its path. Martin's haunting score makes it feel like a dream you can't wake from.
