Uptown/Oak Lawn Hyperlocal Conversation

About this event

Join Dallas Urbanists, neighborhood residents, community organizations, and local decision-makers for a Hyperlocal Conversation about the future of Uptown and Oak Lawn.

Uptown and Oak Lawn are experiencing ongoing changes in housing, development, transportation, and public space. This gathering is an opportunity for residents to share their experiences, discuss neighborhood priorities, and connect with others interested in shaping the area's future.

We'll make space for conversations about:

• Walkability and pedestrian safety

• Transit access and neighborhood connectivity

• Housing affordability and development

• Public spaces and the neighborhood environment

• How planning and infrastructure decisions affect residents

• Opportunities to make Uptown and Oak Lawn more accessible, connected, and livable

We're particularly interested in hearing directly from residents about what is working, what needs attention, and what improvements would make a meaningful difference in their everyday lives.

We're also reaching out to local elected officials and community representatives to encourage their participation and hear directly from the people who live in the neighborhood.

Your participation matters. Strong community attendance helps demonstrate the level of interest residents have in these conversations and makes it easier to bring neighborhood priorities to the attention of local decision-makers. Please RSVP early and share the event with neighbors, friends, and local organizations.

This will be our final Uptown / Oak Lawn gathering of 2026 before our December break. We'll return with another season of neighborhood conversations in January 2027.

Whether you're a longtime resident, a newer neighbor, a local business owner, or someone who cares about the future of these communities, you're welcome.

Come share your perspective, meet others in the neighborhood, and help shape the conversation!
