- ➤ Denton ISD announced raises for teachers and staff, awarding a $750 increase to teachers and a 1% boost to staff starting in March. The district will consider more pay hikes for the 2026/27 school year & plans to invest in its workforce. The Cross Timbers Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ TxDOT is calling for residents in Denton County to share input on new bike routes as part of the Dallas District safety study (the survey opened after a Tuesday virtual meeting). Locals can mark ride start and end points as well as safety concerns on an online map. The Cross Timbers Gazette
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Marcus swimmers won their first UIL state title on Saturday evening by scoring 148 points at the state meet, beating Strake Jesuit by 13. Coach Brandon Dion, an alumnus of Marcus, said the relay efforts — which netted 108 points — secure a bright future for the program. The Cross Timbers Gazette
