Taco Bell submitted plans for a new restaurant at 1248 Hwy 114 in Justin — located next to McDonald’s and across from Gateway Church — with construction starting in July and finishing by the end of October on a 2,115 sqft project estimated at $1.35 million.

Three Flower Mound High School seniors developed NeuroShield, a biomedical system that detects virus threats early, and advanced as regional ExploraVision winners.

They will compete nationally, with bonds awarded at a ceremony on June 5.

Tricia Lutkenhaus, who served as interim principal since February, is now the permanent principal of Northwest High School, announced by Northwest ISD Thursday morning.

The district will choose a new principal for Barksdale Middle School at its April 13 board meeting in Northlake.

TxDOT will pour a new deck on the Main Street Bridge in Lewisville, closing FM 1171 from 8 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday.

Northbound I-35E, southbound lanes at Valley Ridge and express lanes will be closed with detours posted, and delays may occur if weather delays work.
