EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Highland Village Elementary will hold a legacy event on May 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that will feature carnival games, refreshments, and a ceremony at 10:30 to honor its six principals over 44 years. The school will close at the end of the school year on May 23 due to budget concerns and lower enrollment (a decision made in December). The Cross Timbers Gazette

- ➤ On February 15, Fire Station 513 on Copper Canyon Rd in Lantana added an ambulance to speed emergency responses for our community. On February 27, community stakeholders joined a groundbreaking at Fire Station 512 at I-35W and Dale Earnhardt Blvd in Northlake—the new station will open late summer to enhance coverage.
