- ➤ Denton County Friends of the Family will break ground in October on a new Family Justice Center—built on donated land west of North Lakes Park off North Bonnie Brae St—that will provide one-stop help for domestic violence and sexual assault victims. The center has secured $8 million from the Denton County Commission Court along with support from local communities such as Flower Mound and will complete its first phases in 9–12 months. - ➤ Flower Mound's Gibson-Grant Log House is officially named a Texas Historic Landmark after preservation efforts and will hold a designation ceremony soon — a milestone for local history — as the town honors its heritage. Flower Mound Leader
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Last Monday, the Flower Mound Planning and Zoning Commission denied a proposal from Realty Capital Management to shift unbuilt Lakeside residential units to the east of Long Prairie Road—this follows the Parks Board’s May approval for expanding the project.
