Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s Healthy Lawns and Healthy Waters Program is partnering with the Tarrant Regional Water District to offer a free residential training on rainwater harvesting and turf management on April 14 in Lewisville at the Annex Building of the Upper Trinity Regional Water District Event Center from 1-5 p.m.—organizers say the event will include soil testing and guidance on proper fertilizer application and irrigation practices to reduce runoff and improve water quality.

The Denton County Emergency Service District No. 1 and 2's 2024 report showed an 18.8% increase in calls to nearly 3,847 compared to just over 3,000 in 2023 with 57% for EMS and 43% for fire incidents in areas like Denton, Northlake and Argyle.

The report detailed key incidents such as storage building and mobile home fires and a swift water rescue — the department is now moving from recovery to high-performance in 2025.
