Yesterday, the Texas House approved Senate Bill 2 that creates a $1 billion private school voucher program + a $7.7 billion public education funding measure to raise teacher salaries and improve special education.
The measures now head to the Senate for final approval + lawmakers will work to resolve key differences in funding, eligibility, and oversight.
The Denton County Emergency Services District will host its 3rd Annual Carry The Load event on Saturday, May 17th from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.—a partnership event honoring Memorial Day that includes a seven-mile walk from Lantana Community Church to Station 511 with free hamburgers and hot dogs served to families.
Flower Mound’s wastewater treatment plant was named Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Year by the Water Environment Association of Texas for its strong compliance record and proactive improvement plan— it has served the town since 1972 while handling an average of 8.7 million gallons per day with a two-hour peak of 33.3 million gallons.
Los Caminos recently opened at Lakeside in south Flower Mound and offers upscale Mexican cuisine that mixes traditional dishes with a modern twist.
