  • Post Oak Park is getting $1.1 million in upgrades including concrete trails, new restrooms, and a berm-style playground with tot swings and synthetic grass hills. Construction starts in June — the park will be closed during the month-long renovations.  The Cross Timbers Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • Highland Village police advised residents on Friday to ensure pets have current rabies vaccines after an injured skunk in the 300 block of Greenleaf Street tested positive; those with potential exposure around Apr. 17 should contact Animal Services.  The Cross Timbers Gazette

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Residents in Double Oak voiced safety concerns over the high traffic FM 407 shopping center proposed with Lantana (arguing it will worsen drainage and risk safety instead of ensuring thoughtful development). Longtime resident Dick Ulrich said the center’s 9,500 daily cars do not meet community needs.  The Cross Timbers Gazette
