Senior Airman Brett Morris was named Flower Mound’s newest Hometown Hero at the Town Council meeting.
A Marcus High School graduate who excelled in the Air Force, he earned several honors + promotions including Senior Airman Below the Zone.
Flower Mound was recognized as the 2025 Governor’s Community Achievement Award winner for its work in environmental stewardship and beautification.
Keep Texas Beautiful highlighted the town’s local nonprofit partnerships + projects such as public art installations and tree plantings as key factors in the honor.

After a year and a half of planning, the family-owned Branded Bagels will have its grand opening soon in Northlake Commons off FM 407 to bring New York-style bagels, schmears and a full menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches to the community.
The shop, which followed a well-received soft opening, will offer a rotating weekly special — and the owners credit strong local support and their New York experience for their success.
