Argyle ISD voters approved a $423M school bond proposal on May 3 to fund two key measures—Proposition A to expand classroom capacity and Proposition B to build a baseball/softball complex at Argyle High School for its transition to two high schools in 2027-2028.
The bond maintains current tax rates and will help the district serve nearly 12,000 students by 2035.
At 7 p.m. on Saturday, the Denton County Elections Office released unofficial early voting results that showed several school board and town contests were set to pass in southern Denton County, with Flower Mound Propositions A and B receiving strong vote counts—further updates were expected as votes were counted.
Olivia Chamizo, a Guyer High School senior and Oregon State commit, won her regional discus championship with a 159.2-foot toss and placed third in the shot put on Saturday.
She finished fourth at the state meet and will soon join Oregon State University on scholarship to continue her track career.
