Flower Mound ranks No. 14 nationally on U.S. News & World Report's list of Best Places to Live—its strong economy and high income levels help the town stand out.

Argyle’s Public Safety Department will host its 5th annual Child Safety Fair at 10 a.m. on June 7 at Liberty Christian School’s parking lot—families will learn about water, fire, gun, vehicle and poison safety as well as heatstroke and boat safety for summer activities.

The event will also feature displays from police and fire departments, a helicopter landing, and fun activities like a bounce house, water slide and free snow cones.

The report noted a strong local economy from over 2,000 businesses and affordable homes with a median value of $476,609 — factors that helped boost its ranking as the fourth-best city in Texas.

Northlake officials warned residents about a utility scam in Denton County after a local call claimed a past due CoServ Electric bill and a door-to-door collector was seen,+ police confirmed that CoServ does not send representatives in person and urged residents to verify billing requests directly with the company.

Starting May 27, the Lewisville ISD will serve free, healthy meals for children as part of the Seamless Summer Option program— a plan by the USDA and the Texas Department of Agriculture— to help kids get proper food during summer break.

The meals will be available at several sites for children under 18 and for students with disabilities up to 21.
