Several Memorial Day ceremonies will take place on Monday across southern Denton County.

Flower Mound will hold its Memorial Day Ceremony at 9 a.m. at the Senior Center where local leaders and Army veteran Doug Peterson (an award-winning author and Congressional Gold Medal recipient) will speak, while Lewisville and Trophy Club will host events at 10 a.m. at the Tabernacle of Old Hall Cemetery and Medlin Cemetery, respectively.

Flower Mound Town Council approved the site plan for Golf Everywhere, a new indoor golf facility at the northeast corner of FM 2499 and Aberdeen Lane.

Construction of the 31,471 square foot facility with 12 simulator bays, a short game area and a 4,500 square foot putting green will begin this summer and plans call for a golf instruction center, fitness center and restaurant to be added to the campus.

Denton ISD announced that Dylan Taylor will become the new principal of Harpool Middle School on July 1—he replaces Dr. Colleen Grindle, who served three years before leaving for another opportunity.
