Senior Talk DFW and the Denton County Sheriff’s Department will host scam prevention sessions for seniors—one from 10 to 11:30 a.m. June 16 at Seeden Photography in Argyle and another from 10 to 11:30 a.m. June 18 at Midwestern State University in Flower Mound.
💼 Business
7 Brew plans a drive-thru coffee shop by renovating the former Salad and Go building on FM 1171 near Flower Mound.
Construction will begin in September and finish in December (the site is 860 sqft) and will serve a menu of traditional and specialty drinks.
🎭 Culture
Esquire Theater is gearing up for a busy summer season with live music, comedy and family shows.
The venue — a hub for local talent — will host community events throughout the season.
🎓 Education
A member of the Argyle ISD Board resigned at the end of May and the board will appoint a replacement at its meeting on Monday, June 15 — interested community members have one week to email board president Leigh Ann Artho, and the new member will face a May 2027 ballot.
🏛️ Government
Flower Mound officials will hold a public meeting at the Community Activity Center on Wednesday from 6 & 8 p.m. to gather input on a renovation and expansion that will update lobby, add an indoor pool, fitness center and sports courts, with construction set for late 2027.
🏈 Sports
Highland Village native Ashlyn Krueger earned a spot in the French Open main draw with a strong win on May 21; the 22 year old served nine aces and will prepare for Wimbledon later this month & the US Open in August.
