Dr. Lori Rapp, the first woman to lead Lewisville ISD, was named Region 11 Superintendent of the Year on Tuesday by the Texas Association of School Boards after a 30-year career in the district.

She advances to the state competition at the txEDCON conference in September + district officials praised her gains in student achievement and financial stewardship.

After HB 2 was signed, Argyle, Lewisville and Northwest school districts approved teacher and staff raises for the school year from 2025 to 26 — a move that boosts pay for experienced educators — with teachers earning $2,500 for three or four years of service and $5,000 for five or more years while other staff received modest increases.

Texas Health Resources opened a new Breeze Urgent Care center on Tuesday in Argyle (located on FM 407 just east of Hwy 377) to give residents easy access to urgent care.

The center, the 31st in North Texas, is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day and offers both in-person and video visits.
