Ray Bowens, a longtime Flower Mound resident, quit his IT job at Bank of America and opened the Kwik Kar Vista Ridge auto repair shop in Lewisville on April 8th, 2005, where his business soon earned community trust.
Over 21 years, he has also mentored young entrepreneurs and served on local boards—helping shape community growth.

Flower Mound Mayor Cheryl Moore, along with the Flower Mound Fire and Police Departments, is nominated as finalists in the Community and Nonprofit Services category for the Best of Denton County awards.
Voting for the awards will end Aug. 13 — local residents are invited to cast their votes.

Dr. Chelsea Wehr now owns the pediatric dental practice in Flower Mound and has updated it with a giant slide, movie theater, and game room with iPads + a ceiling TV so kids enjoy their visit while getting care.
She uses online scheduling and a new tissue laser to offer less painful, efficient treatments for children and select adults with special needs.

A local parent said that after 34 years of raising seven children (four girls and three boys) and watching their last child graduate a few weeks ago, the family now focuses on building connection over obedience.
The parent explained that this new approach (emphasizing love and trust) has strengthened relationships and given the kids a secure base.
