Residents in Denton have volunteered to help at community events, cleanups, animal shelters, and local departments—actions that save money for public safety, infrastructure, and other services.

The City of Denton now offers many opportunities for those who want to give back and strengthen community ties.

Owner John 'Sparky' Pearson reopened Earl and Isabella’s Taverna on Monday after weeks of renovations at the old Argyle fire station that once housed Earl’s 377 Pizza—updating seating, decor, and adding new menu items including in-house tiramisu.

The secondary kitchen for extended offerings will be inspected early in August before it is fully operational.

Town staff and board chairs will be at Town Hall at 2121 Cross Timbers Rd on Tuesday, July 29 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to answer questions about joining Flower Mound boards and commissions—applications open on Aug.

1 and will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Aug. 29.

Denton County government is planning major changes, including a new traffic signal at Robson Ranch Road and Cleveland-Gibbs Road expected this fall—leaders say the move will improve daily commutes while a new Fire & EMS Master Plan and three property tax relief bills headed to November voters will further support safety and growth. County officials are also coordinating with regional partners to enhance water, stormwater and utility systems as the area continues to expand.
