- ➤ Flower Mound celebrates Parks and Recreation Month with several events scheduled this week. Today a free beginner yoga class runs from 11 a.m. to noon at the Heritage Park Performance Pavilion — a storytime for children ages 2-6 is set for July 25 at Heritage Springs Splash Pad and a park cleanup is planned for July 26 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. City of Flower Mound
- ➤ Yesterday, Flower Mound police teamed up with Texas Roadhouse at 3811 Long Prairie Road from 3-9 p.m. to raise money for Special Olympics Texas as officers swapped badges for plates and aprons—supporting the Tip-A-Cop fundraiser. Northlake will hold its Tip-A-Cop event today at Texas Roadhouse at 18355 I-35W from 4-9 p.m.—tips will help Special Olympics Texas. Family eGuide

- ➤ On July 8, the Highland Village PD celebrated its 50th anniversary at a City Council meeting where Mayor Charlotte Wilcox and Police Chief Dough Reim honored the department’s long service and commitment to public safety.
