Two local school districts announced Proposition A Elections on Tuesday to raise funds for school maintenance and operations—Northwest ISD is proposing a tax rate increase of three cents to generate at least $12 million for reducing class sizes and retaining teachers while Denton ISD approved a tax ratification expected to lower property taxes, including for seniors. Voters will decide on these measures on November 4.

Commissioner Edmondson thanked Denton County professionals for coordinating emergency response during the deadly Fourth of July floods that claimed over 130 lives in the Hill Country and affected families at Camp Mystic.
