Today is the first official 100-degree day of 2025—firefighters and paramedics have already seen a rise in heat-related emergencies, which may be caused by people relying on smartphones for weather updates without noting high humidity.
In June, emergency services responded to 290 calls and advise all residents to drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous outdoor activities during high heat.
