- ➤ Flower Mound is accepting nominations for the Outstanding Citizenship Award to honor local individuals and groups who improve the community—nominations are open until October 31 and winners will be selected by a local committee to be announced at the Town Council meeting in December. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ A study from gobankingrates.com named Flower Mound as the 19th wealthy suburb—its household incomes over $150,000, more than 6% growth, a median income of $157,737, and an average home value of $599,026—earning it a livability rating of 71. Lewisville also made the list as the 17th suburb for home prices under $500,000 with a population rise of 16.57% from 2021 to 2023. The Cross Timbers Gazette
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents voted Flower Mound Police Department and Flower Mound Fire Department as the best in Denton County — the vote was held on August 27th. This honor reflects the dedication and service of these departments to our community. City of Flower Mound
- ➤ The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) finished the 2025 Federal Transit Agency Triennial Review with zero findings after an on-site visit by FTA representatives from July 1 to 2. CEO Paul Cristina said the review highlights their three-year effort to support transit services for Highland Village, Lewisville and Denton while GoZone ridership in Highland Village and Lewisville increased by 12% and 22% year over year (setting the stage for further upgrades). - ➤ Denton County Public Health found mosquito traps with West Nile Virus near Argyle and Pilot Point and will conduct truck-based ultra-low volume fogging three times from today to September 4 between 9 p.m. — 5 a.m. Officials advise residents to drain standing water and use bug spray to reduce risk.
