- ➤ Potbelly announced that it will open nine new North Texas stores, including one in Flower Mound, under Burke Restaurant Group’s leadership which also runs Wienerschnitzel and Wingstop. The chain will serve toasted sandwiches, soups and milkshakes made by hand to new customers and create local jobs — boosting the local economy. The Cross Timbers Gazette
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Denton ISD will hold four in-person meetings at its high schools to share details about Proposition A—designed to support teacher retention and classroom resources—and all eligible voters may attend regardless of enrollment status; the meetings will be on Sept. 17 at Ryan, Sept. 24 at Denton, Oct. 7 at Braswell and Oct. 15 at Guyer with the proposition on the November 4 ballot. - ➤ Flower Mound’s Communications Department was honored with six national awards from NATOA for its videos featuring the 'State of the City 2025' report and projects on public education, public safety, and library programming—recognizing its excellence in local communications. City of Flower Mound
- ➤ Argyle residents will vote on November 4 to see if the sales tax for businesses in the Harvest commercial area should increase from 1% to 2%. Town Manager Mike Sims said the tax change will boost town revenue — over $100,000 annually — and will not change the tax for local residents. The Cross Timbers Gazette
- ➤ Lewisville Police Department officer Rachel Roberts was named Denton County’s Best Police Officer for 2025—she is the second officer from her department to win the award since 2016. Flower Mound Leader
