- ➤ Last Saturday the Cross Timbers Rotary held its eighth annual Rhythms at the River Walk fundraiser, drawing thousands to watch yellow rubber ducks race for prizes and support local nonprofits on the newly developed River Walk. The event has grown over the years and spurred plans for a Fall Festival on Oct. 10—11 that will boost activity and showcase the area's community spirit. The Cross Timbers Gazette
- ➤ On Monday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., Flower Mound Public Library will host a presentation where residents learn how to start and care for backyard chickens—registration is recommended. City of Flower Mound

- ➤ A new coffee shop called Bruvana Coffee House will open soon at 500 Flower Mound Road in Flower Mound. The Suite 108 space—situated between Pretty Pools and Guitars and Growlers—will serve specialty cold brews and globally inspired drinks in the location that formerly housed a vision and eyewear store. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lewisville's Parks and Recreation Department won the 2025 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management from the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration and the National Recreation and Park Association — a recognition earned after a rigorous review of their planning and innovation. Flower Mound’s own Parks and Recreation Department was also recognized in March for its mentoring and impact. The Cross Timbers Gazette

- ➤ Robson Ranch is an active adult community where retired residents stay engaged through sports, clubs and mutual support—they will hold a garage sale on Oct. 25 and a Holiday Market on Oct. 18 for the public. The Cross Timbers Gazette
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Reign — a new all-girls youth soccer club with mostly local players — recorded 35 wins and 2 ties without a loss in its inaugural season. Director Scott Moore said the club focuses on building a strong work ethic and will expand its teams to include other age groups while exploring more tournaments in Texas and beyond.
