  • A new Branded Bowls opened Wednesday in the Lakeside DFW development in southern Flower Mound—serving Tex-Mex style bowls for quick, affordable meals. Local entrepreneurs Marty Bryan and Brian Gasperson plan to expand the fast-casual dining option with future openings in the region.  The Cross Timbers Gazette

CULTURE NEWS

  • Erik Turner, a founding member of Warrant who moved to Texas in 2018, said he manages the band while enjoying a quieter life in Argyle—he will perform in the Let the Good Times Rock Tour in North Texas on October 10 and 11. He noted that the band plays nearly 50 shows a year as it keeps rock music alive.  The Cross Timbers Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Flower Mound’s planning department earned the Richard R. Lillie Planning Excellence Award for the sixth time—showing its strong focus on best practices in planning.  Flower Mound Leader

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The Flower Mound Planning and Zoning Commission approved the site plan for a 200-unit apartment complex at Silveron Park on Monday evening—this plan covers 8.94 acres at the southeast corner of International Parkway and Lakeside Village Blvd, includes three, four-story buildings with 331 parking spaces, covered garages, a pool, picnic areas and a playground. An agreement between developers and the town requires the retail and office buildings in Silveron Park to finish before residents move in.  The Cross Timbers Gazette

SPORTS NEWS

  • Former Dallas Cowboys tight end and current Liberty Christian head coach Jason Witten is one of 128 former players nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2026—over the next few months, the list will narrow to 50 and then 25 semifinalists with 15 finalists announced just before Super Bowl LX.  The Cross Timbers Gazette
