  • In Harvest, neighbors kick off Booing Season by leaving treats and a 'You've been booed' note on doorsteps to spark kindness—residents and local business owners join in to brighten their streets.   • Flower Mound will host the free Fall Into Flower Mound Festival on Oct 10 to 11 at The River Walk—a two-day event that will include music, a pumpkin patch, vendors, food trucks, and games.  Flower Mound Leader

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Metrocrest Services CEO Tracy Eubanks announced he will retire in 2026 after nearly 13 years of leading the agency—achieving many new milestones during his tenure.  Flower Mound Leader

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Flower Mound’s Planning Services Division earned the Planning Excellence Program certificate for the sixth year—showing high planning standards with strong support from the Town Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission, and the town is one of 49 Texas cities recognized in 2025.   • Flower Mound updated its dangerous dog ordinance Monday to include injuries to animals—if an animal causes serious harm to pets or livestock, animal services will seize it for a court review that may lead to euthanasia.  The Cross Timbers Gazette
  • At its Aug. 12 meeting, the Northwest ISD school board voted down a proposal for a period of prayer during the school day—general counsel Christie Hobbs said the district already supports faith expression through clubs and quiet prayer spaces. Board members noted the change would lead to constitutional and logistical issues for the district.  The Cross Timbers Gazette
  • On Wednesday, Congressman Brandon Gill from Flower Mound introduced a bill that speeds up the deportation of violent criminals such as gang members and terrorists by expanding federal authority & closing a loophole in current law. The proposed measure makes these individuals ineligible for asylum and requires that they be detained while their removal is processed.  The Cross Timbers Gazette
