For the Love of Orphans, an Argyle nonprofit, will host its Boots & Blessings event at Marty B’s Restaurant at 6 p.m. on October 29 — it celebrates 10 years with dinner, a raffle and live music by Argyle-native Andrew Plank.

Jim Reid of Little Joe’s Farmstead and Rapid Med Urgent Care raised warnings about emergency access, and the Argyle Town Council will review the variances on Oct. 20.
Today at 7 p.m., Flower Mound Public Library (3030 Broadmoor Ln.) hosts an Environmental Services presentation by Texas Parks & Wildlife Urban Wildlife Biologist Rachel Richter that explains how bats support local ecosystems and human economies.
Ujjwal Vinnakota, a Lewisville resident and UNT graduate, was selected to play professionally in the National Cricket League with the Chicago Cricket Club (a Dallas-based league with 90-minute matches) and will enter the Major League Cricket draft pool next year.
