- ➤ For the Love of Orphans, an Argyle nonprofit, will host its Boots & Blessings event at Marty B’s Restaurant at 6 p.m. on October 29 — it celebrates 10 years with dinner, a raffle and live music by Argyle-native Andrew Plank. Nearly all proceeds will support college scholarships and new classrooms at its orphan care center in Zambia — an effort to help vulnerable children succeed. The Cross Timbers Gazette

- ➤ Goranson Bain Ausley announced that Chad Elsey, a Flower Mound native with over 20 years of family law experience, has joined the firm to serve Denton County clients from its Plano office—focusing on local family legal needs. The Cross Timbers Gazette
- ➤ A proposed three-building development called Argyle Market Place was unanimously denied Oct. 1 by the Planning and Zoning Commission due to multiple requested variances and reimbursement requests for infrastructure expenses — $300,000 and $195,000 — leaving local business owners concerned about parking loss and safety issues. Jim Reid of Little Joe’s Farmstead and Rapid Med Urgent Care raised warnings about emergency access, and the Argyle Town Council will review the variances on Oct. 20. The Cross Timbers Gazette
