- ➤ Twenty volunteers from Argyle, Highland Village and Lewisville have begun training for the United Way of Denton County Dancing with Our Stars competition — part of the 14th annual UNITED Tribute gala — as they prepare for the event that will be held on January 17 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center Hotel. - ➤ The Flower Mound Police Department in partnership with LISD and the DEA will host a medication disposal event as part of Red Ribbon Week on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—residents may drop off expired, unwanted, or unused medications at Flower Mound High School, 3411 Peters Colony Rd., or at Edward S. - ➤ Tanger Outlets is hosting a free Barktober event on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. where shoppers and their pets can enjoy pet costume contests & live music with themed photo opportunities. In addition, Portillo’s Beef Bus Tour will stop at the outlet on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to serve Chicago-style hot dogs and sandwiches while the restaurant is under construction with an expected opening early 2026. - ➤ Local self-taught artists Yvonne Gambino, Beatrix Krell, and Sylvia Stehsel created new triptych canvases for display at Flower Mound Senior Center at 2701 W. Windsor Dr.—their paintings join to form one unified piece—showing their long friendship and shared creative idea. City of Flower Mound
