CULTURE NEWS

  • A group art exhibit titled Creative Urges will be on display at Town Hall (2121 Cross Timbers Rd.) through the end of November to celebrate November Arts Month with works by nine local artists. A meet-and-greet is scheduled on Thursday, Nov. 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. to learn more about the artists' creative process.  City of Flower Mound

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Teachers from Heritage, McAuliffe and Briarhill schools will take the field in a charity softball game called the Great Pumpkin Pitch-Off at Unity Park in Highland Village on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.—all proceeds will benefit The Teachers Pantry with attendees encouraged to bring unopened school supplies and enjoy trick-or-treating, free popcorn and a silent auction.  The Cross Timbers Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Pilot Knob Rotary Club and local high school students will host a lithium-ion battery recycling drive on November 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Guyer High School in Denton — and Braswell High School in Aubrey to collect old rechargeable devices and help recycle valuable minerals.  The Cross Timbers Gazette

  • Local developer Rob Knight bought 183 acres in Bartonville to build legacy communities—83 acres for his family in Knights Crest and the rest for Knights Landing with 15 six-acre plots—while he plans future projects in Flower Mound and Argyle.  The Cross Timbers Gazette
