- ➤ Flower Mound veteran Doug Brown celebrated his 100th birthday with four events—from Oct 16 to Oct 25—that brought together family, friends, and local groups to honor his service. Brown, known for his Army career and long volunteer work, has earned local honors including a Veterans’ Plaza named for him. The Cross Timbers Gazette

- ➤ The Flower Mound Public Library now displays art from local practicing artists as part of the November Arts Month celebration—this exhibit continues the Creative Urges display from Town Hall. Visitors can see the work during regular hours or at the Art Party on Friday, Nov. 7 from 5-7 p.m. City of Flower Mound
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Library at (3030 Broadmoor Ln.) will host Homeschool Explorers and Curiosity Club on Tuesday, November 11, letting kids in third to fifth grade design and build a structure to test its earthquake resilience. The Homeschool Explorers session begins at 2 p.m. in the Community Program Room and the Curiosity Club session starts at 4:30 p.m. in the Children’s Programming Room. City of Flower Mound

- ➤ Southern Denton County residents can donate blood with Carter BloodCare in November at three events—at Argyle High School on Nov 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at CTDI in Lakeside on Nov 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and at Flower Mound High School in the White Gym on Nov 21.
