CULTURE NEWS

  • The Denton County Office of History and Culture will bring its traveling museum—Native American Texans—to the Flower Mound Public Library (3030 Broadmoor Ln.) on November 12 at 7 p.m. The exhibit will show the history, migration, and culture of six Native American tribes in Texas and discuss the impact of European settlement.  City of Flower Mound

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Argyle ISD announced Monday it bought 128 acres in Northlake—on the south side of Robson Ranch Road near Jane Ruestmann Elementary—to plan for a future secondary campus. The purchase was funded through Proposition A of the voter-approved bond and follows a recent 50-acre land buy for an elementary and middle school.  The Cross Timbers Gazette

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Southern Denton County towns will celebrate Arbor Day with tree plantings and giveaways—Flower Mound will plant a Cedar Elm at Shadow Ridge Park on Friday at 4 p.m. and host a tree giveaway at the Town Arboretum at Westchester Park Saturday, while Argyle and Highland Village will hold events with coffee, tree pick-ups, and volunteer opportunities on Saturday at designated local parks.  The Cross Timbers Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • DCTA now offers Denton County residents a direct transit option to DFW International Airport by connecting the A-train with DART’s recently launched Silver Line—this new service costs $12 for a one-way trip and provides an affordable alternative to driving. The agency will extend the A-train to Downtown Carrollton by 2030 to allow a single transfer to the Silver Line and further reduce travel time.  The Cross Timbers Gazette

HEALTH NEWS

  • Texas Health Resources — which operates multiple hospitals in Denton County — earned recognition as one of 2025's Best Workplaces for Women, ranking 41 and marking its ninth time on the list; CEO Barclay Berdan said the strong workplace culture supports respect and empowerment for female employees.  The Cross Timbers Gazette
