About this event
"Tissue correction strategies for 1H-MRS and their effects on lifespan metabolite trajectories"
Presented by Karen Galindo
Karen Galindo is a second-year neuroscience Ph.D. student at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she works in Dr. Kimberly Chan’s lab. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a concentration in Neuroscience, from the University of Texas at San Antonio. There, she studied how serotonin modulates GABAergic and glutamatergic neurons in the inferior colliculus, a key auditory center of the brain. Her current research uses proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to study brain chemistry in aging and disease, with a focus on mood disorders.
