Title: Affine Patches of Positroid Varieties

Abstract: Positroid varieties are well studied subvarieties of the Grassmannian. What happens if we require some additional Plucker coordinate to be nonzero? We discuss these objects, Plucker patches of open positroid varieties, and their relationship with Catalan combinatorics and knot theory. Specifically, we introduce bijections between rational Dyck paths and maximal Deodhar diagrams and discuss how the 4-genus of an associated link relates to the geometry of positroid varieties. This talk includes joint work with Matthew J Tyler.
