About this event

"Building Living Pharmacies for the Bone Marrow and Beyond"

Speaker:

Corynn Kasap, M.D., Ph.D.

Clinical Instructor of Internal Medicine

Division of Hematology

University of California San Francisco

About Corynn Kasap:

Dr. Kasap holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and earned her M.D./Ph.D. from the Cornell Tri-Institutiona Medical Scientist Training Program. She then completed internal medicine residency training at the University of California San Francisco, where she also obtained advanced training through a fellowship in hematology and oncology.

Her laboratory-based research combines clinical and translational approaches to hematologic malignancies, with particular emphasis on immunotherapy, drug-target identification, and mechanisms of treatment resistance. Her work includes T-cell engineering, bispecific antibodies, small-molecule inhibitors, and optimization of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies. At UCSF, she has investigated CD70 as a therapeutic target in high-risk and relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, acute myeloid leukemia, and myelodysplastic syndromes, including the development of novel anti-CD70 CAR T cells. Her research also extends to engineered cellular therapies for solid tumors, including CAR T-cell approaches targeting TM4SF1 and Nectin-4.
